Jing Liang
Background
Jing is a doctoral student in the cognitive neuroscience program at the University of Chicago.
She received BA in Language Technology/Speech Engineering from Harbin Engineering University, China and MA in Language Acquisition from Carnegie Mellon University before she joined Human Neuroscience Laboratory at the University of Chicago in 2005.
Research Interest
Her research interests largely revolve around the system-level brain plasticity issues due to either normal learning or recovery after stroke. Under the guidance of Professor Steven Small and Professor Howard Nusbaum, Jing is researching on the function of vision in speech perception and learning, using fMRI and behavioral tests.
She also remains quite interested in using the state-of-art modeling techniques to simulate human brain. She expects that reciprocal facilitation among behavioral, neuroimaging and mathematical methods will bring her research to an integrated level.
