Background
I got my B.S. in applied psychology from Beijing Normal University and M.S. in Statistics from the University of Chicago, under the guidance of Michael Stein. I am now completing my Ph.D. in psychology. Boaz Keysar is my dissertation chair and George Wu, Sian Beilock and Josh Klayman are in my committee. My dissertation is entitled "Cultural Influences on Decision Making". I love statistics and psychology.
Research Interest
My research deals with interpersonal communication, cultural differences and decision making. My findings include some counterintuitive ideas; for example, the more knowledge people share, the less effective their communication may be. My dissertation studies show that members of different cultures use focal and contextual information differently when assessing probabilities of events.
