Julia Vakhrusheva
Background
Julia is a fourth year undergraduate interested in pre-medical studies. She is majoring in psychology at the University of Chicago. She is currently working in the Visser Lab as a research assistant helping graduate students on a variety of projects.
Research Interests
While Julia has a multitude of interests in the fields of biology and psychology, she is currently interested in sex role norms and gender differences and how these factors affect attitude strength. Along with graduate student Asia Eaton and advisor Penny Visser, she is working on compiling an Honors Thesis examining the degree to which stereotypic gender identity salience affects attitude strength.
In the future, she hopes to attend medical school and specialize in the field of psychiatry. Hopefully she'll earn an MD/PhD by May 2025!
Beyond the Lab
When not engaged in intellectual activities, Julia enjoys international ballroom dancing, horseback riding (in the warmer months), and making delicious desserts.
