Background

Mee-Kyoung is a doctoral student in the Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience Program at the University of Chicago. Prior to her enrollment at the University of Chicago, she worked as a research associate at the Center for Cognitive Science, associated with Yonsei University and taught Introduction of Psychology and Cognitive Psychology at Yonsei University and Catholic University as a part-time instructor. She received her M.A. in Psychology from Yonsei University in 2002 after earning her B.A. in Psychology and English literature.

She studies on how children’s numerical understanding is improved with Susan Levine. She has also studied visual attention in normal adults, and “Inhibition of Return” in ADHD children and schizophrenics.

Research Interest

Young children’s numerical representation
Brain-damaged children’s mathematical ability
Repetition Blindness for real-life scene pictures
Inhibition of Return in ADHD children and schizophrenics
Relationship between object effects and Inhibition of Return
Object/grouping effects independent from location effects
