Timothy Brawn
Background
Tim Brawn is currently a doctoral student in the Integrative Neuroscience program at the University of Chicago. He works in the laboratory of Dan Margoliash and collaborates with Howard Nusbaum. He has worked as a teaching assistant in “Mathematics for Social Sciences”, “Psychological Statistics”, and “Sensation and Perception”. Tim also graduated from the University of Chicago in 2004 with bachelor degrees in Psychology and Philosophy.
Research Interests
Tim’s research focuses on the role of sleep in the consolidation of memories. He conducts behavioral and electrophysiological experiments with European starlings, attempting to connect behavioral evidence of sleep-dependent consolidation with underlying neural mechanisms. He also conducts complementary studies in humans exploring the role of sleep in sensory and motor learning.
