Jessica Sim


Background

Jessica is a doctoral student in the Social Psychology program at the University of Chicago, working primarily with Joshua Correll. Jessica received her B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology from the University of British Columbia in 2005, and her M.A. in Social Psychology from the University of Chicago in 2008. Her current research emphasizes the tripartite model of the self, comprised of the individual, relational, and collective selves. In particular, she investigates how individuals regulate and maintain group membership, and the consequences of group affiliation for the self, group, and society.

Teaching Experience

Jessica has served as an instructor of Social Psychology and a co-instructor of Psychology in Film & Literature. She has also served as a Teaching Assistant for a range of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
