Gerardo obtained a BA in psychology from the California State University Northridge. He is currently a 4th year student in the cognitive psychology area. His adviser is Sian Beilock.

Gerardo has previously served as a TA in several courses including Cognitive Psychology and the Neuroscience of Empathy.
Research Interest
Gerardo is interested in understanding how different sources of stress (e.g. math anxiety and stereotype threat) negatively impact academic achievement as a function of individual differences in working memory. He is also involved several projects that apply psychological interventions to improve students’ scores on high-stakes exams.
