Igor Utochkin is an Instructional Professor in the Department of Psychology and the College since 2026. He received his PhD in Psychology from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia in 2006. He then worked as a professor at the Higher School of Economics, Russia, where he obtained a Doctor of Science degree (Habilitation) in Psychology in 2021. In 2022, he joined the University of Chicago as a Research Scientist at the Institute for Mind and Biology. Igor will be teaching in the College’s Mind sequence and classes in Psychology including Sensation and Perception, and Psychology of Errors and Illusions. His research interests include cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience, with a focus on memory, attention, and visual perception.
