Background

Brecken is a doctoral student in the Computational Cognitive Neuroscience program working with Ed Awh. He previously worked as a research assistant at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Psychological and Brain Sciences in 2025.

Research interests

Brecken's research focuses on the neural mechanisms underlying visual working memory. He employs EEG, eye-tracking, and psychophysical methods to explore resource allocation and load signals, hoping to advance our understanding of how cognitive resources are distributed in dynamic environments.
