 
Kate is an Instructional Professor in the Department of Psychology and the College. Kate’s courses include Developmental Psychology, Media & Psychology, and Child Development in the Classroom. She also teaches in the College’s Mind series. Kate earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Vanderbilt University in 2013, and worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Bowdoin College before joining the Psychology department at University of Chicago in 2015. Kate’s research interests include children’s learning through direct and indirect (e.g., overheard conversations, video, social media) interactions with the social world.
